To think that people are attempting to grow 2000 pound pumpkins! And they are getting pretty close: article in the NYTimes. At Longwood Gardens there was a special pumpkin display. This one is a mere 579lbs. It looked gigantic to me! What a lovely fall (summer weather) day it was while visiting friends in Delaware.
And pumpkins mean Halloween of course, so I'll put in a word in for my Color and Cook Halloween, just out from Dover. It includes my recipes for a few scary, gross (and yummy) things: Wormy Popcorn Balls, Jellied Eyeballs...and Pumpkin Cupcakes...for some cooking after the coloring.
