NYCBallet's NUTCRACKER

I am very lucky to live just five blocks away from Lincoln Center and very fortunate to see live performances in the theaters there frequently. And at this time of year I love NYCBallet's Nutcracker. Since first moving to New York City almost 30 years ago I have rarely missed a year. And now of course for these last four years there has been a special reason: my dancing daughter!

I'm very excited that for the first time New York City Ballet's Nutcracker is going to be shown in movie theaters (Live on Tuesday Dec 13) and TV (Live on Wednesday Dec 14) and even internationally (later in December).

It is a SUPER cast: SUGARPLUM: Megan Fairchild CAVALIER: Joaquin De Luz DEWDROP: Ashley Bouder HERR DROSSELMEIER: Hendrickson MARZIPAN: Tiler Peck HOT CHOCOLATE: Scheller, Danchig-Waring COFFEE: Teresa Reichlen TEA: Carmena CANDY CANE: Ulbricht MOTHER GINGER: Scordato FLOWERS: Lowery, Krohn DOLLS: Lovette, Sell SOLDIER: Schumacher MOUSE KING: J. Peck DR & FRAU STAHLBAUM: Muller, la Cour - and practically every single corps dancer in the company. It will be fun!

And if you want to "talk" to the dancers here is a new Q&A that they have started up.
The dancers so far are:
my daughter Lydia!
Janie Taylor, Wendy Whelan, Ashley Bouder, Ashly Isaacs, Russell Janzen, David Prottas
